CoolLED pE-800 Eight-Channel High-Speed LED Fluorescence Illumination System
Eight-Channel Fluorescence Illumination
CoolLED pE-800
Eight independently controllable LED channels with broad spectral coverage, sub-7-microsecond triggering and advanced digital, TTL and analogue control.
The CoolLED pE-800 provides eight powerful, independently controlled LED channels covering approximately 365–740 nm. It supports fluorophores from DAPI through to Cy7 and delivers precise, high-speed illumination for multi-colour fluorescence imaging, live-cell microscopy, electrophysiology and optogenetics.
Eight Selectable Excitation Channels
Each LED channel can be selected, controlled and triggered independently, with any combination of channels operating simultaneously. Matching the LED output more closely to the required fluorophore can reduce unwanted background and improve signal-to-noise performance.
The pE-800 uses a standard 3 mm liquid light guide for flexible positioning and compatibility with a wide range of microscope systems. An optional universal collimator and customer-specified microscope adaptor complete the connection where required.
Control is available through USB 2.0, RS-232, TTL and analogue inputs. The CoolLED LightBridge interface provides straightforward access to channel selection, irradiance control, presets and Sequence Runner automation.

High-Speed Multi-Channel Imaging
Eight TTL inputs allow each LED channel to be triggered independently in less than 7 microseconds. A global TTL input provides synchronisation with a camera or other acquisition hardware.
Single-band excitation filters can be installed in the supplied eight-position filter holder. When used with a suitable multi-band filter cube, this can remove the need for an external mechanical filter wheel and avoid the switching delay and vibration associated with moving components.
Eight-Channel Sequence Runner
LED and irradiance sequences can be programmed through LightBridge and initiated using a single TTL output from a camera or other device. Sequence Runner combines the flexibility of software configuration with the rapid response of TTL triggering.
Control Options
| Control Method | Capability |
|---|---|
| LightBridge GUI | On/off control, LED selection, real-time irradiance adjustment, presets, start-up settings and Sequence Runner. |
| TTL | Eight individual channel inputs and one global synchronisation input. |
| Analogue | Eight 0–10 V analogue inputs for dynamic external irradiance control. |
| Computer Connection | USB 2.0 or RS-232 connection for computer and compatible software control. |
