STEREOZOOM / MACRO ZOOM MICROSCOPE SYSTEM

Stereozoom / Macro Zoom On-Screen Magnification & Field of View Calculator

See how the zoom body, front objective / auxiliary lens, eyepieces, C-mount / relay, camera sensor and monitor work together. This version is laid out to make it clearly different from a compound microscope system.

Working distance is not included because it varies significantly between microscope brands and objective systems. Always check the individual microscope specification when working distance is important to the application.

Visual magnification through eyepieces—
Camera-path optical magnification—
Approx. displayed magnification—
Approx. horizontal field shown—
Visual magnification = zoom body × objective × eyepiece. Camera-path magnification = zoom body × objective × C-mount / relay. The on-screen zoom then crops and enlarges the camera image, changing the displayed magnification but not the microscope’s optical resolution.
The PCB image is used as a visual example only and is not a calibrated measurement image. Field-of-view and scale values shown by the calculator are estimates based on the selected optical factors and nominal camera sensor dimensions.
