Three-Axis Industrial Measuring Microscope with Stage size Options
Auckland Scientific AUC-300 Series
Three-Axis Industrial Measuring Microscopes
Precision measuring microscopes combining high-magnification metallurgical observation, three-axis measurement, electric Z-axis focusing and specialist dimensional-analysis software.
Optical Inspection & Precision Measurement
The AUC-300 Series combines the magnification and contrast techniques of a metallurgical microscope with the three-axis measurement capabilities of an industrial measuring system.
High-precision grating scales measure movement across the X, Y and Z axes. The XY stage is moved manually using rapid and fine-positioning controls, while the Z axis uses electric focusing for controlled vertical movement and accurate focus positioning.
Four stage sizes are available, allowing the system to be matched to the dimensions, weight and measuring range of your samples.
Choose Your Measuring Range
| Model | XY movement range | Stated XY accuracy | Maximum load | Stage size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AUC-310 | 200 × 100mm | (2 + L/100)µm | 10kg | 258 × 358mm |
| AUC-320 | 300 × 200mm | (3 + L/100)µm | 15kg | 350 × 500mm |
| AUC-330 | 300 × 300mm | (3 + L/100)µm | 20kg | 500 × 500mm |
| AUC-340 | 400 × 300mm | (3 + L/100)µm | 20kg | 458 × 620mm |
L represents the measured length in millimetres. Final measuring performance depends on correct installation, environmental conditions, calibration and operating practice.
No. The integrated work desk is an optional accessory and is not included in the standard configuration. It provides a dedicated space for the computer tower, a foldable keyboard drawer and an ergonomic workstation for the microscope and measuring equipment. Contact AUckland Scientific is this is a requirment.
Features & Benefits
High-precision grating scales support measurement across the X, Y and Z axes with a 0.1µm display resolution.
Choose from XY movement ranges extending from 200 × 100mm to 400 × 300mm.
Electric vertical movement supports controlled focusing and measurement without repeatedly turning a manual focusing control.
The substantial vertical movement range accommodates samples of different heights and dimensions.
The sextuple nosepiece allows electronic switching between objectives and includes a slot for optional DIC components.
Each stage includes a quick-movement mechanism and fine-adjustment control for efficient sample navigation.
The 5–35° adjustable trinocular head accommodates different operator heights and working positions.
The direction of sample movement corresponds with the image seen through the eyepieces for more intuitive operation.
A split-image focusing system with adjustable green LED illumination assists with precise focus positioning.
The separate counter provides axis readings, zeroing, linear compensation and measurement-unit selection.
The standard system includes a microscope camera, C-mount adapter and measuring software.
The substantial measuring body provides a stable platform for industrial observation and dimensional measurement.
Auckland Scientific can also supply an anti vibration table, contact us for further information
Metallurgical Optical System
The standard configuration includes four infinity-corrected long-working-distance Plan Achromatic metallurgical objectives. With the supplied 10× eyepieces, they provide an optical magnification range of 50× to 500×.
| Objective | Numerical aperture | Working distance | Supply status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5× | 0.15 | 10.8mm | Standard |
| 10× | 0.30 | 12.2mm | Standard |
| 20× | 0.40 | 8.8mm | Standard |
| 50× | 0.55 | 7.9mm | Standard |
| 100× | 0.80 | 2.1mm | Optional |
Observation Techniques
Suitable for routine observation and measurement of opaque industrial samples.
Available when the system is equipped with the optional brightfield/darkfield nosepiece and objectives.
A polarising configuration can be added for suitable metallurgical, mineral, LCD and semiconductor samples.
An optional DIC kit can enhance small height differences and fine surface structures.

Measurement Software
The standard measurement software supports dimensional analysis of simple and complex sample features. Measurement positions can be selected freely, unwanted results can be removed and reports can be generated without manually transferring data.
Available functions include:
- Point, line, distance and angle measurement
- Circle, diameter and radius measurement
- Feature-position measurement
- Measurement of complex shapes
- Live image capture
- Result storage and management
- Customised measurement layouts
- One-button test-report generation
