Upright Biological Microscope with LED illumination & Brighfield / Phase Contrast Options
Advanced Biological Microscope
An advanced biological microscope available in four configurations:
- Brightfield binocular
- Brightfield trinocular
- Phase contrast binocular
- Phase contrast trinocular
Its infinity-corrected plan achromatic objectives provide crisp, flat-field images across the wide 22 mm field of view. The regulated LED Köhler illumination system incorporates a field iris diaphragm and a focusable, centreable condenser, enabling illumination to be optimised for each objective.
Ergonomically positioned focusing and mechanical-stage controls make the microscope comfortable to operate during extended periods of use.

Available variants
| Variant | Observation methods | Viewing head |
|---|---|---|
| Brightfield binocular | Brightfield | Binocular |
| Brightfield trinocular | Brightfield | Trinocular with photo tube |
| Phase contrast binocular | Brightfield and phase contrast | Binocular |
| Phase contrast trinocular | Brightfield and phase contrast | Trinocular with photo tube |
The trinocular viewing head incorporates a 50:50 light split for simultaneous visual observation and camera imaging.
Brightfield configuration
The brightfield variants are supplied with the following infinity-corrected plan achromatic objectives:
| Objective | Numerical aperture | Type |
|---|---|---|
| 4× | 0.10 | Plan achromatic |
| 10× | 0.25 | Plan achromatic |
| 20× | 0.40 | Plan achromatic |
| 40× | 0.65 | Plan achromatic |
| 100× | 1.25 | Plan achromatic oil immersion |
A focusable, centreable NA 1.25 condenser is supplied with the brightfield configurations.
Phase contrast configuration
The phase contrast variants support both brightfield and phase contrast observation. Phase contrast enhances transparent, low-contrast specimens without requiring staining, making it particularly useful for examining living cells and other unstained biological samples.
The following objectives are supplied:
| Objective | Numerical aperture | Observation method |
|---|---|---|
| 4× | 0.10 | Brightfield |
| 10× | 0.25 | Phase contrast |
| 20× | 0.40 | Phase contrast |
| 40× | 0.65 | Phase contrast |
| 100× | 1.25 | Oil-immersion phase contrast |
The phase contrast configurations also include:
- Brightfield and phase contrast turret condenser
- Phase-centering telescope
