The AUC-635 Series comprises advanced inverted metallurgical microscopes designed for industrial research, materials inspection and quality control.

Its infinity-corrected optical system and long-working-distance metallurgical objectives provide clear, flat images across the field of view. Complete with

  • Built-in objective-magnification sensor
  • Magnification displayed on the front panel

The inverted configuration allows large, heavy or irregularly shaped specimens to be placed directly onto the spacious stage and observed from below.

A 360° rotatable trinocular viewing head, low-position controls and rackless mechanical stage provide comfortable operation during extended periods of use. The viewing head can also raise the eyepoint by up to 34 mm, helping users vary their working posture.

Both variants include simple polarising capability. Choose the AUC-635-I for brightfield and simple polarising observation or the AUC-635BD-I when brightfield, darkfield and simple polarising observation are required.

Ergonomic operation

The 360° rotatable viewing head allows the eyepoint height to be raised by up to 34 mm. Combined with the low-position focusing and stage controls, this helps users maintain a comfortable posture during extended observation.

Rackless mechanical stage

The 240 × 250 mm three-layer mechanical stage provides 50 × 50 mm controlled movement.

Its rackless X-Y mechanism is designed for smooth, comfortable operation while avoiding an exposed projecting rack. A transport-locking plate helps prevent unwanted stage movement while the microscope is being moved.

Front magnification display

A sensor built into the nosepiece detects the objective currently in use. Its magnification is shown on the microscope’s front display, allowing the user to confirm the selected objective without looking beneath the stage.

Intelligent ECO system

The integrated infrared sensor can automatically switch the microscope off when no operator is detected within the preset period.

This helps reduce unnecessary energy consumption and can extend the operating life of the illumination system.

Observation methods

Brightfield

Suitable for routine examination of polished metallurgical specimens, metals, alloys and other reflective materials.

Darkfield — AUC-635BD-I

Darkfield illumination increases the visibility of impurities, scratches, edges and surface flaws by presenting them brightly against a dark background.

Simple polarising

The included polariser and 360° rotatable analyser allow specimens to be viewed under different polarising orientations without repositioning the sample.

Differential interference contrast

An optional DIC attachment can be combined with the polarising equipment to increase contrast and provide a relief-like appearance. This can assist with detecting small variations in surface height on metallurgical materials, minerals and wafers.
