1100 Series Rectangular Boiling Baths
The Clifton 1100 Series Rectangular Boiling Baths are electrically heated multi-place boiling baths designed to provide an effective source of steam heat for laboratory samples and processes.
The range is available in a choice of stainless steel or aluminium, with models designed for either constant boiling or adjustable boiling intensity. All models incorporate a 1000 W heater and a concentric ringed lid system for accommodating different vessel sizes.
The steam produced provides an effective source of heat for samples that may be otherwise thermally damaged by a naked flame, as well as applications including distillation and concentration of liquids, melting agar and other solids, metallurgical analysis, protein analysis and bacteriological examinations.
Two boiling control options
E-Range models provide constant boiling for gentle heating by steam, while ER-Range models incorporate an energy regulator allowing adjustment from a gentle simmer to a vigorous boil.

E-Range – Constant Boiling
The E-Range provides constant boiling water for gentle heating of samples by steam. These models are suited to applications where a continuous source of boiling water is required without variable boiling control.
The E models operate at 100°C boiling temperature and feature constant boiling with no energy regulator.
Ideal for:
gentle steam heating, distillation and concentration work, melting agar
and other solids, and laboratory processes requiring continuous boiling.
ER-Range – Energy Regulated
The ER-Range incorporates a built-in energy regulator which controls the amount of boiling from a gentle simmer to a vigorous boil.
This provides greater flexibility where the heating intensity needs to be adjusted to suit the sample, vessel or process.

Multi-Place Vessel Heating
The 1100 Series is designed as a multi-place boiling bath, allowing multiple vessels to be heated simultaneously.
The concentric ringed lid allows the hole size to be varied to accommodate different vessel diameters. This provides flexibility when working with different laboratory vessels at the same time.

The manufacturer specifies that 1101E, 1104E and 1105E have three concentric ring sets plus the centre ring, while 1102E has four ring sets plus the centre ring.

Constant Water Level
All 1100 Series baths incorporate an integral constant-level device to regulate the water level during operation.
The rectangular baths include a visible water spout which allows the operator to check that water is being maintained at the correct working level. This helps prevent the bath from boiling dry.

Resettable Safety Cut-Out
The boiling baths incorporate a resettable safety cut-out as part of the heating system protection.
Heater Indicator
The heater indicator shows when the unit is heating and indicates when the safety cut-out has fired.
Construction & Durability
The 1100 Series is available in stainless steel or aluminium, depending on the selected model.
The manufacturer specifies that 1101E, 1101ER, 1104E, 1104ER and 1102E are stainless steel, while 1105E and 1105ER are manufactured from aluminium.
Smooth-walled construction makes the bath easier to clean and de-scale, while the painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial technology designed to inhibit bacterial growth and support laboratory hygiene requirements.
