iStir 50L High-Capacity Digital Magnetic Stirrer

Powerful and precisely controlled magnetic stirring for volumes up to 50 litres

The iStir 50L is a high-capacity digital magnetic stirrer designed for reliable mixing of liquid volumes up to 50 litres. Combining a powerful brushless DC motor with microprocessor control, it provides consistent stirring performance while requiring minimal routine maintenance.

Its stainless-steel setup plate provides a durable, corrosion-resistant working surface. Programmable pulse operation, selectable acceleration rates and an extended timer make the iStir 50L suitable for demanding laboratory, production and industrial mixing applications.

Large-volume mixing without an overhead drive
The powerful magnetic drive allows suitable liquids to be mixed without inserting a rotating shaft or impeller into the vessel, helping to simplify cleaning and reduce potential sample contamination.

Key Features

  • Maximum stirring capacity of 50 litres
  • 100–1,000 RPM adjustable speed range
  • Speed accuracy of approximately ±10 RPM
  • Maintenance-free brushless DC motor
  • Microprocessor-controlled operation with digital display
  • Selectable acceleration rates from A1 to A9
  • Programmable pulse operation with direction reversal
  • Extended timer up to 99 hours and 59 minutes
  • Continuous operating mode for untimed applications
  • Power-interruption recovery mode
  • Electronic overload protection
  • Corrosion-resistant stainless-steel setup plate
  • Closed, easy-to-clean housing with IP21 protection
  • Optional support frame and remote control pendant

Controlled Acceleration for Stable Mixing

Nine selectable acceleration settings allow the operator to control how quickly the stirrer reaches its programmed speed. The gentler settings help minimise splashing and maintain stir-bar coupling in larger vessels, while faster acceleration can be selected where rapid circulation is required.

Programmable Pulse Mode

Pulse mode alternates the direction of stirring between clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation. The pulse interval can be programmed between 30 and 300 seconds, helping to break up persistent flow patterns, reduce settling and improve mixing uniformity.

Power and Overload Protection

When power-interruption mode is selected, the stirrer retains the operating parameters and can resume the remaining programme following restoration of the electrical supply. Built-in overload protection helps protect the drive system if excessive demand is detected.

Typical Applications

  • Preparation of large batches of laboratory reagents and buffers
  • Mixing culture media and aqueous solutions
  • Pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulation work
  • Chemical and industrial process development
  • Environmental and water-testing laboratories
  • Dissolving powders, salts and other soluble materials
  • Research, pilot-scale and quality-control applications
