CoolLED pE-340fura LED Illumination System for Fura-2 Calcium Imaging
High-Speed Ratiometric Calcium Imaging
CoolLED pE-340fura
Dedicated 340 nm and 380 nm LED illumination for high-precision Fura-2 calcium imaging, with broad white output for routine fluorescence microscopy.
The CoolLED pE-340fura combines dedicated 340 nm and 380 nm excitation with fast channel switching, stable LED output and independent irradiance control. It is designed for Fura-2 ratiometric calcium imaging while also providing broad white output for everyday fluorescence applications.
Fast, Stable Calcium Imaging
Fura-2 calcium imaging requires accurate and repeatable switching between 340 nm and 380 nm excitation. The pE-340fura replaces slower mechanical wavelength switching with independently controlled LEDs capable of triggering in less than 20 microseconds.
Stable LED illumination helps reduce experimental noise and improves the precision of ratiometric measurements. Increased signal-to-noise performance may also allow lower concentrations of Fura-2 dye to be used, helping reduce dye toxicity and improve cell viability.
In addition to calcium imaging, the system provides broad white output from approximately 435–645 nm for imaging standard fluorophores including GFP, FITC, TRITC, Texas Red, mCherry and Cy5.
