White, visible and infrared options
The CoolLED pT-100 is a compact transmitted-light illumination system available with broad white output or narrow-band 525 nm, 635 nm and 770 nm LEDs. It provides instant operation, stable illumination and precise irradiance control for routine microscopy and demanding research applications.
LED Illumination for Transmitted-Light Microscopy
The pT-100 brings the convenience, stability and long lifetime of LED technology to transmitted-light techniques including brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, differential interference contrast and Dodt gradient contrast.
The broad white model is designed as an alternative to conventional 100 W halogen illumination. Its colour temperature remains consistent across the irradiance range, supporting repeatable imaging without regular colour rebalancing.
Narrow-band 525 nm, 635 nm and 770 nm versions provide application-specific benefits, including increased camera contrast, deeper penetration into thick specimens and infrared illumination for electrophysiology and specialised contrast techniques.

Choose the Correct Illumination

Liquid-Light-Guide Delivery
White and 770 nm models can be supplied with a fixed 3 mm liquid light guide. Remote positioning is particularly useful for sensitive electrophysiology experiments because the illumination source can be positioned outside a Faraday cage, helping reduce the risk of electrical interference.
Liquid-light-guide delivery also provides compatibility with microscopes that incorporate their own collimating optics and accept a light guide directly.
