CS200 joysticks are supplied as part of a correctly configured Prior automation system. Auckland Scientific will confirm whether XY control, Z-axis control or both joysticks are required and provide a system-specific quotation.
Product overview
Prior Scientific CS200-series joysticks provide precise, ergonomic manual control of compatible motorised microscope stages and focus mechanisms.
The CS200XY provides two-axis control of a compatible motorised XY stage, while the CS200Z provides separate control of the motorised Z-axis focus mechanism. The two joysticks can be positioned independently and used simultaneously, allowing comfortable two-handed operation without requiring a twisting motion.
Their compact footprint helps conserve valuable bench space, while the accessible speed-control button allows the operator to change movement speed quickly when moving between low- and high-magnification objectives or carrying out fine positioning.

Adjustable movement speed
The joystick speed-control function allows movement to be adjusted to 25%, 50% or 100% of the configured maximum speed.
Faster movement can be used for travelling across larger areas of a specimen, while a reduced speed provides finer control during high-magnification observation, critical focusing or precise sample positioning.

CS200-series joysticks are designed for use with compatible Prior controller systems, including:

Joysticks do not operate stages independently
A CS200 joystick must be connected through an appropriate Prior controller. The joystick is not a standalone stage or focus controller and cannot be connected directly to a motorised stage or focus motor.
Manual and software control
Adding CS200 joysticks does not prevent the microscope system from being operated through compatible imaging software. The joysticks provide convenient manual positioning, while the connected Prior controller can also receive movement commands from supported software through USB or RS232.
This allows the operator to move and inspect the specimen manually before starting an automated acquisition, scanning or Z-stacking routine.
