Darkfield Illumination for the VisiLED Slim
The SCHOTT 400.810 is a dedicated darkfield focus optics ring designed exclusively for the VisiLED Slim Ring Light – P/N 400.150.
It fits directly to the Slim Ring Light and redirects the illumination at a shallow angle towards the specimen to create a darkfield effect.
No additional mounting adapters are required.

How Darkfield Illumination Works
Darkfield illumination directs light towards the specimen at a low angle rather than directly into the microscope objective.
Smooth areas remain comparatively dark, while edges, scratches, particles and other surface irregularities scatter light towards the objective and appear bright.
This can make very fine surface features easier to detect than with conventional brightfield illumination.
